Lead Mechanical Engineer – Food Machinery

Position

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems for both standalone machines and fully integrated production lines. These machines are custom-built for clients in the food industry, making each project unique and challenging. Beyond your design tasks, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing junior engineers, coaching them in drafting and design work, and ensuring efficient preparation of project documentation and plans.

You will combine your technical expertise with leadership skills, working on innovative solutions that meet the high standards of quality and safety in the food sector.

Responsibilities
✓ Design and develop mechanical systems and frames;
✓ Mentor and coach junior engineers in drafting and design tasks;
✓ Validate designs for manufacturability, safety, and standardization;
✓ Optimize existing designs to enhance functionality and reduce costs;
✓ Prepare technical documentation, including manuals and risk assessments;
✓ Contribute to improvement projects and the development of new machines;
✓ Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders;
✓ Support FATs/SATs and implement necessary modifications;
✓ Liaise with suppliers to specify and procure materials.

Position requirements

✓ A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
✓ At least five years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in machine building or the food sector;
✓ Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and strong team spirit.
